The tradition of Chenmapo beancurd can
be traced back to 1862. This dish gained its name simply due
to the fact that the beancurd was first cooked in a special
way by a cook with visible smallpox on her face, known as ¡¡"mapo"
in chengdu dialect .Now mapo beancurd has a world-wide reputation.
